Board Members Membership Who we are

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE MISSION STATEMENT:
"The Diversity Committee is a family of ECWR members who seek to enhance
the mission and outreach of the organization. Our purpose is to address
the needs of excluded LGBT Christians who come to ECWR seeking
recognition, inclusion, and fellowship as part of a Christian community
striving to fully reflect the Body of Christ."

CURRENT GOALS - The Diversity Family seeks to be an active and ongoing means of fulfilling ECWR's mission and vision by ensuring that our distinctive
identity as a place of reconciliation is made earnest and genuine for the
full diversity of people who come to ECWR. We believe that, in the
long-run, people who are fully acknowledged and respected, and whose gifts
and talents are utilized will support and become ECWR, thereby
strengthening the organization in new and exciting ways.

The Diversity Committee and the ECWR Board are working together
to deepen and build ECWR's distinctive ministry of reconciliation through
compassionate hospitality to the world's diversity.

ConnECtion 25 Update for the Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee will be hosting an Open Forum to discuss the issue of Couples vs. Singles:

Couples vs. Singles: Exploring the perceptions, prejudices and stereotypes of either being single or a part of a couple in the GLBT community and society at large. Everyone fits into one of these categories, has an opinion and everyone has feelings about it. Come share your experience, enlighten the group, and be enlightened.

The Diversity Committee will be presenting a workshop on Ageism:

Ageism: "You need to hurry and get your house in order. Get out there, you are not getting any younger." Sounds familiar? What are your age prejudices? Spiritually, we were meant to be intergenerational, yet that notion is lacking in our society as a whole, and thus, within ECWR. The Lord used persons from every generation to fulfill the call. As Christians we must step up to the task of bridging the gap and creating an environment that is more conducive to people of all ages caring for each other in a Christ centered community. Come and participate in our attempt to be such a community.
