I believe it is through our relationship with Jesus that we can live the life God created us to live. We can trust that God has wonderfully and powerfully made us to live out loud in this world. I was only able to claim this truth as my own after finding ECWR. Prior to finding ECWR I struggled to believe God loved me just as I am; I had lost trust in the image of God that is me. But ECWR provides a place for the broken to heal; for fires to be rekindled; for trust in God to be restored; for our stories to matter. In the safety and support of ECWR, lives are changed and potentials are restored. I know. It happened to me. I want to help make it happen for others.

Having been raised in a Christian home, I struggled with gay feelings throughout my teenage years. Then, in my early twenties, while living in Dallas, Texas, I came across the local ECWR chapter. My interaction with the local group was the start of the reconciliation of my spirituality and sexuality. I've been a faithful member of ECWR ever since that time. Now, some twenty years later, it is an honor to serve the ECWR membership through working on the board. I seek to serve with a servant's heart. I pray that my time on the board will edify and encourage my fellow board members and the membership at large.

Five years ago this coming May, I found an ad in the "Advocate" that said, "Just As I Am". That was the night that I found out about ECWR and that I found out that I wasn't the only gay Christian out there and that there was a place for me in the world.  Two months later, I boarded a plane to San Francisco for my first ECWR ConnECtion.  It's all history from there :) Through connECtion, I found GCN and through both ECWR and GCN I found a family; a community that literally has saved my life.  It is an honor and a privilege to have been appointed to serve on the ECWR Board of Directors.  It is my hope and my goal to reach those people who are in the same position that I was in 5 years ago, and to help lead ECWR as we move forward in service to the Lord.

Lee Ann Clark I look forward to serving on the ECWR board of directors.  I was raised in a very conservative, fundamental church environment.  When I learned my son was gay the Lord had to change my mind, change my heart, change my whole way of thinking.  He did, my God is awesome.  Being involved with PFLAG and ECWR has been such a blessing to me.  As a mom I have had opportunity to care and love so many who have been rejected by families and churches.  I bring to the board a family perspective and I am trusting God for more and more families to become involved in ECWR with their dear children.  I believe the Lord has put me on the ECWR board for a very special reason and I am excited about the future and the work the Lord has for me to do.

Our First Name is GOOD NEWS!

Good News!EVANGELICALS is our first name.  It's been our first name since Evangelicals Concerned was founded in 1975.  But just as nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about "the gay agenda", "the gay lifestyle" or everything that passes in a Pride Parade, nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about evangelicals.
