Keynoters

Dr. Nick Warner will explain the "Clobber Passages" in the Bible and how they are used against gay men and lesbian women to tell them that they are not okay. Dr. Warner states that these passages can be the corner stone of reconciliation for those brothers and sisters with conservative church backgrounds.

Rev. Anita Cadonau-Huseby will speak in personal terms of how she has lived her life as a Christian lesbian and about the affirmations and blessings she's experienced within the broader Christian church. She will talk about the welcoming of our gifts and ministry to the wider church and how it is that we have the opportunity to draw ever closer to God in a personal relationship even though human obstacles and prejudices can hold us back.

Activities

Michael Darling, ECWR Conference Coordinator, will share ideas for facilitating a local group, with an emphasis on how to help GLBT persons reconcile faith and sexuality.

Dr. Warner will conduct a study of "joy, hope and depression" based on the New Testament book of Philippians.

Other workshop topics may be covered as time permits.

Times for worship, music, prayer will be held in the morning and afternoon. We will also hold a communion service at the conclusion of the conference.
