For over 34 years Evangelicals Concerned has provided a safe place for gay Christians to accept their sexuality and reconcile their Christian faith with their sexuality.

Through it all countless of lives have been changed. Saved from a life of guilt and shame. Empowered to experience the unconditional love of God.

Our First Name is GOOD NEWS!

Good News!EVANGELICALS is our first name.  It's been our first name since Evangelicals Concerned was founded in 1975.  But just as nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about "the gay agenda", "the gay lifestyle" or everything that passes in a Pride Parade, nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about evangelicals. Mission Statement

Evangelicals Concerned (EC) is a non-denominational evangelical resource providing a community of fellowship that is a safe place for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Christians to reconcile and integrate their faith and sexuality, and to grow toward Christian maturity.

A national organization, we are open and affirming to all who embrace the Christian faith regardless of sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, or church membership. Through conferences, retreats, local groups, resource materials, education, leadership training, and personal support, EC serves as a role model to all evangelicals (gay or straight), to foster an integrated and healthy GLBT Christian life.

Letter from the President

Following several months of prayerful discussion and reflection, 99% of members who returned a ballot approved the motion to dissolve ECWR and transfer our assets and experience to the Gay Christian Network (GCN). Despite the bitter-sweetness of the circumstances, we can take some solace in such a strong confirmation of this direction.

So, as we enter a final, transitional chapter in the life of our ministry, here are a few things you should know.

First, the Board’s primary concern is that ECWR members and friends find support and fellowship as they continue their journey toward personal integration and spiritual maturity:

a. We’re confident you’ll find in GCN a like-minded spiritual home – an online community of 15,000 members and a committed Christ-centered ministry. You’re invited to attend GCN’s conference in Orlando in early January.

b. Keep connected with Dr. Ralph Blair and Evangelicals Concerned, Inc. online. EC-New York also invites you to their winter Bible study weekend, early summer conference, and fall festival events.

c. And if you’re involved in a local group affiliated with ECWR, stay with it! Local ECWR groups need not be impacted by the dissolution of the national organization.

d. The Evangelical Network (TEN) is another ministry where you can become involved.

We’ve also had an enthusiastic response to the idea of an ECWR reunion event in 2012 to celebrate our history, our friendships, our service, and our Lord! We’ll keep you posted on the date and location of this event as it comes together.

The Board’s Integration Task Force will oversee ECWR’s formal dissolution and integration, which is expected to take 6-9 months. Frequently Asked Questions are posted online and will be updated as events unfold. Or contact us if you have questions.

And finally, we believe God has brought us to this place. We’re grateful for over 30 years of service and outreach, and we look ahead to all God will yet accomplish through us and our partners in ministry. With thanksgiving to God, who has blessed us richly.

There are no homosexuals in the Bible.

No homosexuals in the BibleRuth and Naomi were no lesbians. David and Jonathan weren't gay.

Neither were Jesus and John, the men of Sodom, cult prostitutes, slave boys and their masters, nor call boys and their customers.

...as Calvin Theological Seminary Old Testament scholar Marten H. Woudstra says:"there is nothing in the Old Testament that corresponds to homosexuality as we understand it today"and as SMU New Testament scholar Victor Paul Furnish says:"There is no 'text on homosexual orientation in the Bible."
